Your Neck Will Thank You

If you only do one thing for yourself today, let it be that you raise up your monitor!

The average adult spends 8 hours a day looking at the computer.  Right now, as you read this, where is your head?  Is it tilted down and pulled forward?  I bet it is.

The forward pull of your head puts stress on your vertebrae in your lower neck.  This contributes to degenerative disc disease and other degenerative neck problems.  This posture also causes the muscles of your upper back to overwork to counterbalance the pull of gravity on on your forward head.

Are you shoulders hunched?  I bet they are.  Your forward head is often accompanied by forward shoulders and a rounded upper back.  This not only feeds into the neck problem but can also cause shoulder pain.

So do two things. (I doubled it)  Raise your monitor and make a chiropractic appointment today! 803-807-9960

Disc Degeneration Help

Cervical and lumbar disc degeneration is caused by a long term lack of proper motion of the vertebral segments. This lack of proper motion is generally caused by trauma that patients may have experienced years ago.
Disc degeneration can lead to several other spinal conditions as the discs continue to deteriorate. Bone spurs, disc herniation, and spinal stenosis are a few conditions that may result from degenerative disc disease.
Severe degenerative disc disease can limit your range of motion. As your intervertebral discs lose water, flexibility, and height, your vertebrae lose their cushion and begin to rub against each other. It is, therefore, very important to catch this condition early.
Through the use of spinal manipulation, therapeutic massage, exercise and spinal decompression  normal motion of those segments can be restored, eliminating symptoms and restoring motion and function.
